Car
If you are driving from Mérida, take the highway towards the cenotes (Carr. cenotes). Follow the road for approximately 30 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the cenotes, specifically Cenote X'batun. The entrance is well-marked. Parking is available on-site, and there is usually a small fee for entry, which is approximately 50 pesos for Mexican nationals and 100 pesos for foreigners.
Public Transportation
From Mérida, you can take a bus to the cenotes. Head to the main bus terminal (Terminal de Autobuses de Mérida) and look for buses heading to 'Cenotes' or 'Chocholá'. The bus ride will take about 30-45 minutes. After arriving at the cenotes area, you may need to walk or take a short taxi ride to reach Cenote X'batun. Verify the bus schedule beforehand as services may vary.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Mérida. Agree on a price beforehand, as taxis do not use meters for longer distances. The fare should be around 400-600 pesos round trip. This option allows you to get to Cenote X'batun without any transfers and gives you the flexibility to spend as much time as you'd like at the cenote.
