Car
If you are driving, start your journey from Merida, the capital of Yucatan. Take the Carretera 172 (Highway 172) heading north towards Progreso. The drive is approximately 30 minutes (about 30 km). Once you arrive in Progreso, follow Avenida 80 towards the coast. Turn left onto Calle 21, and then right onto Indeco 195. PIG BEACH is located at this address: Indeco 195, Yucalpetén, 97323 Progreso, Yuc.
Public Transportation
From Merida, you can take a bus to Progreso. Buses run frequently from the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros (Bus Terminal) in Merida. Look for buses heading to Progreso, which usually cost around 20-30 MXN. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Progreso, you can either walk to PIG BEACH (about 15-20 minutes walk) or take a taxi for around 50 MXN. To walk, head towards Avenida 80, turn left towards the coast, then turn left onto Calle 21, and finally right onto Indeco 195 to reach your destination.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Merida to Progreso. This will cost you approximately 400-500 MXN and take about 30 minutes. Alternatively, use rideshare apps like Uber, which are available in the area and may offer competitive rates. Once you arrive in Progreso, follow the same directions as above to reach PIG BEACH at Indeco 195.
