Getting There

  • Walking

    From the New Center area, head southeast on W Grand Blvd toward 2nd Ave. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Woodward Ave. Turn left onto Woodward Ave and walk for about half a mile. You will pass the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Historical Museum on your right. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with W Jefferson Ave. At this point, turn right onto W Jefferson Ave. Continue walking for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Grand River Ave. Beacon Park will be on your left at 1901 Grand River Ave.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From New Center, find the nearest bus stop for the DDOT (Detroit Department of Transportation) on Woodward Ave. You can take Bus 53 (Woodward) towards the downtown area. Board the bus and ride for approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop at Grand River Ave. From the bus stop, walk east along Grand River Ave for about 5 minutes, and you will reach Beacon Park located at 1901 Grand River Ave. Note: A single ride on the DDOT bus costs $1.75.
