Getting There

Bus
From downtown Holland, walk to the nearest bus stop on 8th Street. Board the Interurban Transit bus route that goes towards Grand Haven. The bus should be labeled with the route number that heads to Grand Haven. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Grand Haven City Hall stop. From there, walk south on Washington Avenue until you reach the Grand River. Turn left on the riverwalk and continue until you reach South Harbor Drive. Grand Haven State Park will be just ahead on your right.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, head to the Lake Macatawa pathway near downtown Holland. Follow the pathway along the lake which leads directly to Grand Haven. The ride is approximately 12 miles and takes about an hour. Once you arrive at Grand Haven, follow the signs to the beach area, and you will find Grand Haven State Park located at 1001 S Harbor Drive.

If you're feeling adventurous and enjoy walking, you can take a scenic route from Holland to Grand Haven. Start on 8th Street and head west until you reach the Lake Michigan shoreline. Follow the shoreline north along the beach trail. This route is about 10 miles and will take approximately 4 hours on foot. Make sure to stay close to the shoreline, and you’ll eventually arrive at Grand Haven State Park, located at 1001 S Harbor Drive.
