Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from downtown Saugatuck, begin at the intersection of Butler Street and Lake Street. Head south on Lake Street towards the water. Once you reach the waterfront, take a right onto the boardwalk and walk along the river until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge, and continue straight onto Blue Star Highway. After crossing the bridge, turn left at the first junction onto Lakeshore Drive. Continue walking along Lakeshore Drive for about 1.5 miles until you reach Douglas Beach Park, located at 3099 Lakeshore Dr, Douglas, MI 49406. You’ll see signs for the park as you approach.

• Biking

  For those with bikes, start at the main bike path in Saugatuck, located near the Saugatuck Center for the Arts. Follow the bike path south until you reach Lake Street. Turn left on Lake Street and continue until you reach the waterfront. From there, follow the same route as the walking directions: turn right onto the boardwalk, cross the bridge, and then take a left onto Blue Star Highway. Once on Blue Star Highway, turn left onto Lakeshore Drive and bike for about 1.5 miles until you reach Douglas Beach Park at 3099 Lakeshore Dr, Douglas, MI 49406.
