Car
If you are traveling by car in Mokil Atoll, start from the main area of Tafunsak. Head southeast toward the coastal road. Continue along the coastal road for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the intersection near the Menka River. Turn left at the intersection and follow the road leading towards the river. Park your car in the designated parking area near the Menka River and prepare for a hike upstream into the Yela Ka Forest.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, look for a local bus or shared taxi heading towards Tafunsak. Once in Tafunsak, ask the driver or locals for directions to the Menka River. Most locals will know the area well and can direct you to the starting point for the hike. After arriving at the Menka River, you may need to walk a short distance to a parking area where you can begin your hike into Yela Ka Forest.
Hiking
Once you have reached the Menka River, prepare for a hike into the Yela Ka Forest. Follow the river upstream, where you will find well-trodden paths leading into the forest. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be uneven. The hike may take around 30-45 minutes depending on your pace and stops for photographs.
