Car
If you're driving from Kolonia, the capital of Pohnpei, head east on the main road (Route 1) towards Pwel Weita. Continue for about 20 minutes until you reach the intersection near the airport. Take a left onto Route 3 and follow the signs for Pwel Weita. After approximately 10 minutes, you'll see a sign for Pahnairlap Waterfall. Park in the designated area and follow the marked trail to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
You can take a local bus from Kolonia to Pwel Weita. Buses typically depart from the main bus station in Kolonia every hour. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop near the Pahnairlap Waterfall sign. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. From the bus stop, walk towards the waterfall following the marked trail signs. Note that the local bus fare is usually around $1-2.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the parking area or bus stop, you'll need to hike approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach Pahnairlap Waterfall. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding jungle. Wear sturdy footwear and bring water as the trail can be steep and muddy in places.
