From your accommodation in Pohnpei, head towards the main road (Temwen-Nanwei Rd). If you are in Kolonia, start walking north along the coast until you reach the junction leading to Nanwei. Continue walking on Temwen-Nanwei Rd for about 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local signs pointing to Nan Madol. The trailhead is located near the coordinates R8WH+QCJ, where you will find the start of the trail leading to the ruins.

Public Transport (Bus or Van)
Catch a local bus or van heading towards Nanwei from Kolonia. The fare is usually inexpensive. Inform the driver that you are going to Nan Madol. The bus will drop you off close to the junction of Temwen-Nanwei Rd. From there, walk approximately 1-2 kilometers along Temwen-Nanwei Rd until you reach the trailhead at R8WH+QCJ, where the trail leading to Nan Madol Ruins begins.
