Experience Nan Madol Visitors Center

Getting There

  • Walking

    Begin at the main entrance of the Nan Madol archaeological site. Head towards the main path that leads into the site, keeping the large stone structures on your left. Follow the path until you reach the first large ruin, known as Nan Douwas. From there, continue walking straight along the pathway, which will take you through a series of canals and other ruins. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will start to see signs indicating the direction to the Nan Madol Visitors Center. Follow these signs, and in approximately 5 more minutes, you will arrive at the Nan Madol Visitors Center, which will be on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you are using a bicycle, start from the main entrance of the Nan Madol site. Cycle along the main road that leads to the site entrance. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the right fork, which will lead you directly towards the Visitors Center. Continue cycling straight for another 2 kilometers, and you will see the Nan Madol Visitors Center on your left. Make sure to watch for pedestrians and other cyclists along the way.

  • Boat

    For those who wish to arrive by boat, you can take a local boat service from nearby areas. Head towards the main dock located near the Nan Madol site. Once you arrive at the dock, disembark and walk directly towards the entrance of the site. Follow the main path through the ruins, and in about 15 minutes, you will see signage directing you to the Nan Madol Visitors Center. It's a scenic route but be mindful of the time as the boat services may have specific schedules.
