If you are driving to Joyce Estate from the center of Big Woods, start by heading north on MN-6 N. Continue for approximately 12 miles. After reaching the intersection with MN-2 E, turn right onto MN-2 E. Drive for about 10 miles. Then, take a left onto County Road 5 and follow this road for 3 miles. Joyce Estate will be located on your right. There is no entry fee for visiting Joyce Estate.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first check if there are any local bus services that operate between Big Woods and Bovey. If available, take the bus towards Bovey. Once you reach Bovey, you may need to use a taxi or rideshare service to complete the journey to Joyce Estate, which is located roughly 4 miles from the center of Bovey. Ensure you check the bus schedules in advance, as services may be limited.
Biking/Walking
If you prefer biking or walking and are in good physical condition, you can bike from Big Woods to Joyce Estate. It’s approximately a 25-mile trip. Start by heading north on MN-6 N, then take MN-2 E as mentioned before. Ensure you wear proper safety gear and be mindful of traffic, especially along the roads. This option is recommended only for those who are accustomed to long-distance biking or walking.
