If you are driving from the center of Big Woods, start by heading northwest on Main St toward County Rd 1. Continue on County Rd 1 for about 6 miles until you reach the junction with Renville County Highway 2. Turn left onto Renville County Highway 2 and follow it for approximately 3 miles. The Birch Coulee Battlefield will be on your left at the intersection of Renville County Highway 2 and County Highway 18. Look for parking areas near the battlefield.
