• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Big Woods, start by heading north on Main St. for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with County Road 15. Turn right onto County Road 15 and continue for approximately 4 miles. Then, turn left onto State Highway 2 and follow it for about 10 miles. After that, take the exit toward Bemidji, and then merge onto US-71 N. Continue on US-71 N for about 8 miles until you reach the signs for Buena Vista State Forest. Follow the signs to the forest entrance.

  If you are using public transportation, first check the local bus schedules for the nearest stop in Big Woods. You will want to take the bus heading toward Bemidji. Depending on the service, you may need to transfer buses once you reach Bemidji. After arriving in Bemidji, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Buena Vista State Forest.
