Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from downtown Duluth, head east on Superior Street until you reach 8th Avenue E. Turn left on 8th Avenue E and walk north until you reach 1st Street. Turn right on 1st Street and continue walking until you reach Woodland Avenue. At Woodland Avenue, turn left and continue walking until you reach Hartley Nature Center, located at 3001 Woodland Ave. The entire walk is approximately 2.5 miles and should take around 50 minutes.

Public Transit (Bus)
From downtown Duluth, locate the nearest bus stop for the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA). Take the DTA Route 5 bus heading towards the 'Duluth Heights' and get off at the Woodland Avenue & 3rd Street stop. From there, walk south on Woodland Avenue for about 0.5 miles, and you will reach Hartley Nature Center at 3001 Woodland Ave. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, and be sure to check the DTA schedule for the most accurate times.

Biking
If you're biking from downtown Duluth, take the Lakewalk bike path heading east along the shore of Lake Superior. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with 21st Avenue E. Turn left onto 21st Avenue E and then take a right onto Woodland Avenue. Continue on Woodland Avenue for about 1.5 miles until you reach Hartley Nature Center at 3001 Woodland Ave. This bike ride is roughly 3 miles long and should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed.
