Walking
If you're starting from downtown Duluth, head east on W Superior St toward N 5th Ave. Continue walking until you reach N 5th Ave and turn left. Follow N 5th Ave until it turns into E 3rd St. Continue on E 3rd St until you reach 21st Ave E. Turn right onto 21st Ave E and keep walking until you reach Woodland Ave. Turn left onto Woodland Ave and continue walking until you see Hartley Nature Center on your left at 3001 Woodland Ave. The total distance is approximately 2.5 miles and should take about an hour.

Public Transit
From downtown Duluth, take the DTA bus route 5 (the 'East Side' route) from the Duluth Transit Center. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Woodland Ave and 30th Ave E. From there, walk north on Woodland Ave for about 0.3 miles. Hartley Nature Center will be on your right at 3001 Woodland Ave. Make sure to check the DTA schedule for the most current times.

If you have access to a bike, you can cycle from downtown Duluth. Start on W Superior St and head toward E 3rd St. Follow the bike lanes to 21st Ave E and turn right. Continue until you reach Woodland Ave, then turn left. Hartley Nature Center will be located on your left at 3001 Woodland Ave. The biking distance is roughly 2 miles, which should take around 15-20 minutes.
