Start from the center of Ely, near the intersection of Sheridan Street and 3rd Avenue. Head east on Sheridan Street until you reach the intersection with E. 2nd Avenue. Turn right onto E. 2nd Avenue. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Echo Trail. Turn left onto Echo Trail and follow it for approximately 1.5 miles. You will see a sign for Bass Lake Trail on your right. The trailhead is located at 1548 Echo Trail, Ely, MN 55731.

If you have a bike, start from the Ely City Park located on E. 4th Street. Head northeast toward the intersection of E. 4th Street and E. 2nd Avenue. Keep an eye out for the Bass Lake Trail sign on your right at 1548 Echo Trail.
