Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ely, head southeast on E Sheridan St toward S 1st Ave. Continue straight onto MN-1 E for about 0.5 miles. Turn right onto Echo Trail (MN-169), and walk for approximately 1.5 miles. You will reach the entrance to Bass Lake Trail on the right side of the road. Follow the signs to the trailhead.

If you are renting a bike in Ely, start from the Ely Bike Trail located near the city center. Head north on the bike trail until you reach E Sheridan St. Turn left onto E Sheridan St and then right onto MN-1 E. Continue on MN-1 E for about 0.5 miles. Turn right onto Echo Trail (MN-169), and bike for approximately 1.5 miles to reach the entrance of Bass Lake Trail on the right side.
