From Grand Marais, MN, head north on MN-61 N for about 1 mile. Then, turn left onto the Gunflint Trail (Co Rd 12). Continue on Gunflint Trail for approximately 41 miles. The trailhead to Magnetic Rock will be on your left. Look for a small parking area near the entrance to the hiking trail.

Currently, public transportation options to reach Magnetic Rock directly are limited. However, you can take a shuttle or taxi service from Grand Marais to the Gunflint Trail. It’s advisable to arrange this in advance. After reaching the Gunflint Trail, you can either walk or hike to the Magnetic Rock trailhead, which is approximately 41 miles from Grand Marais along Co Rd 12.
