Car
To reach Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory by car, navigate to 3980 E Skyline Pkwy, Duluth, MN 55804. If you're starting from downtown Duluth, head east on Superior St toward 4th Ave E. Continue onto E 1st St, then take a slight right onto Mesaba Ave. Follow Mesaba Ave until it turns into Skyline Pkwy. Continue on Skyline Pkwy for about 3 miles. The observatory will be on your left with a parking area available.
Public Transportation
Using public transportation, take the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) bus route 5 from downtown Duluth towards the Lakeside area. Get off at the stop nearest to Hawk Ridge, which is on E Skyline Pkwy. From the bus stop, it's about a 10-minute walk to the observatory. Head east on E Skyline Pkwy until you reach the entrance. Be sure to check the DTA schedule for the latest updates on bus times.
Walking
If you are staying nearby, and the weather is pleasant, consider walking to Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory. From the Lakeside neighborhood, head toward E Skyline Pkwy and follow it until you reach the observatory. This scenic route lets you enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Superior along the way.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, bring your bike to explore the area around Hawk Ridge. There are bike paths along Skyline Pkwy. Ensure you follow the designated bike lanes and wear a helmet for safety.
