Car
If you are traveling by car, start by getting on MN-61 N from your current location in Lake Superior. Follow MN-61 N for approximately 30 miles until you reach Two Harbors, MN. As you approach the town, look for signs directing you to the Two Harbors Lighthouse. Once in Two Harbors, turn onto Lighthouse Point Road, which will lead you directly to the lighthouse parking area. Be aware that there may be a parking fee, typically around $5 for the day.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, check for bus services that operate along the North Shore Scenic Drive. The Arrowhead Transit provides bus service to Two Harbors from Duluth. Once you arrive at the Two Harbors bus stop, it is approximately a 1-mile walk to the lighthouse. Follow 7th Ave, which will lead you directly to Lighthouse Point. Ensure you check the bus schedule ahead of time as service may be limited.
Biking
For the more adventurous visitors, biking is a great option. There are bike paths along MN-61 that provide scenic views of Lake Superior. If you are starting from Duluth, it’s about a 30-mile ride to Two Harbors. Ensure you have a map or GPS device to help navigate, and be prepared for some uphill sections along the way. Upon reaching Two Harbors, follow the signs to Lighthouse Point for the last stretch.
