Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving along the scenic Lake Superior North Shore, head south on MN-61. Cascade River State Park is located at 3481 MN-61, Lutsen, MN 55612. Look for the park entrance on the west side of the highway. There is a parking area available for visitors. Note that there may be a small parking fee, typically around $5 per vehicle. Ensure to have cash or a card ready for payment.

• Public Transportation

  While public transportation options directly to Cascade River State Park are limited, you can take a bus to nearby towns such as Grand Marais or Lutsen. From Grand Marais, you can catch a local taxi service or use rideshare apps to reach the park, which is approximately 23 miles south. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary seasonally. Taxi fares can range from $30 to $50 depending on the distance.

• Biking

  For the adventurous, consider biking along the North Shore. There are bike paths that run parallel to MN-61. Once you reach Lutsen, you can easily access Cascade River State Park. • Walking/Hiking
