Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from any point in the Minnesota River Valley area and head towards Bloomington. Use GPS navigation to guide you to 8737 E Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington, MN 55438. If you are coming from the south, take I-35W N to the MN-62 W exit toward the airport. Merge onto MN-62 W and take the exit for I-494 W. Continue on I-494 and take the exit for Bush Lake Rd. Turn left onto E Bush Lake Rd and you will find Richardson Nature Center on your right. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a small fee for parking, so keep cash or a card handy.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take the Metro Transit bus route 6. Board the bus at any convenient stop along the route that is heading towards Bloomington. Get off at the nearest stop to Bush Lake Rd. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach Richardson Nature Center. Follow Bush Lake Rd to the east until you reach the center. Make sure to check the Metro Transit schedule for bus times, as services may vary throughout the day.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, there are bike trails leading to Richardson Nature Center from various points in the Minnesota River Valley. Ensure your route takes you along the trails that connect to the area around Bush Lake Rd. You can access the bike trails from the Minnesota River Valley State Trail. Once you reach E Bush Lake Rd, follow the road to the north until you see the signs for Richardson Nature Center. Always wear a helmet and be mindful of traffic.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and wish to walk, ensure you have a good map or GPS app. From neighborhoods close to Bush Lake Rd, simply head east until you reach Richardson Nature Center at 8737 E Bush Lake Rd. It's a lovely walk, especially if you are enjoying the natural scenery of the Minnesota River Valley. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the roads can be uneven in places.
