From any location in Northwestern Minnesota, take the nearest major highway towards the Twin Cities metro area. If you're on Highway 10, you can connect to I-35W south. Continue on I-35W until you reach I-494. Merge onto I-494 west towards the airport. Take exit 5 for France Avenue South, and turn left at the exit onto France Ave S. Continue south for about 1.5 miles until you reach 9700 France Ave S, where Normandale Japanese Garden is located on the left side. The entrance is located in the West Lot.

If you're using public transportation, check the METRO Transit system for routes from your location in Northwestern Minnesota to the Twin Cities. The nearest light rail station is the Mall of America Station. From there, you can take the METRO Blue Line to the 28th Avenue Station. Once you arrive, you can catch Bus 515, which heads towards Normandale Community College. Get off at the stop closest to 9700 France Ave S. Walk a short distance to the garden entrance.
