If you are near the downtown area of Saint Paul, walk to the nearest Metro Transit bus stop. Take the Route 70 bus heading towards the 'Merriam Park' stop. Stay on the bus for approximately 15 minutes. Once you reach the 'Merriam Park' stop, disembark. From there, walk south on Snelling Avenue for about 3 blocks until you reach the intersection with Marshall Avenue. Turn left onto Marshall Avenue and walk for about 0.5 miles. You will see The Monument in Merriam Park on your right.

If you have access to a bike, start from the downtown area and head east on East 5th Street. Continue onto East 4th Street until you reach the Mississippi River. Follow the riverfront bike path heading south. After about 1 mile, veer left onto Shepard Road. Continue for another mile until you reach the intersection with Snelling Avenue. Turn left onto Snelling Avenue and bike for about 0.5 miles. The Monument will be located on your left in Merriam Park.
