From downtown Saint Paul, head to the nearest bus stop on 5th Street. Take the Metro Transit bus route 54 towards the Mall of America. Ride the bus for approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop for 'Fort Snelling Station.' From there, walk towards the Fort Snelling area, following signs for Historic Fort Snelling, which is about a 10-15 minute walk away.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations available in downtown Saint Paul. Head south on Sibley Street, then take a left onto Wabasha Street. Continue south until you reach the intersection with Fort Snelling State Park. Follow the bike path towards Historic Fort Snelling, which is well-marked.
