If you are traveling by car within Superior National Forest, start by locating the nearest main road that connects to Highway 61. From there, head southeast on Highway 61 towards Schroeder. After approximately 20 miles, look for the signs leading to the Cross River Heritage Center. Take a left onto W Highway (MN-61) and continue for about 1 mile. The center will be on your right at 7932 W Highway, Schroeder, MN 55613.

Walking to the Cross River Heritage Center is not recommended due to the distance and lack of pedestrian-friendly paths from nearby towns. If you are staying in Schroeder and feel adventurous, you can walk from the town center by following W Highway, but be aware that it is about 2 miles and there is limited shoulder space on the road.
