    From the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center, head south on MN-53 S for about 10 miles. Take the exit toward Kabetogama, and merge onto Kabetogama Lake Road. Follow the road until you reach the junction with Gold Portage Road. Turn left onto Gold Portage Road, and continue for approximately 2 miles. The Gold Portage State Wildlife Management Area will be located on your right. Make sure to park in designated areas.

    Currently, public transportation options are limited in the Voyageurs National Park area. The nearest major public transit system is in International Falls. To reach Gold Portage State Wildlife Management Area, take a taxi or rideshare service from the International Falls bus station to Kabetogama. Once in Kabetogama, you'll need to arrange for a taxi to take you to the wildlife management area, as there are no direct public transport links.
