Discover more about Fondren Park

Fondren Park, formerly known as Cherokee Heights Park, has been a neighborhood green space for many years. Located at the corner of Dunbar Street and Northview Drive in West Fondren, the park received a major renovation thanks to a federal grant and the efforts of the Fondren Renaissance Foundation. In August 2011, the park was officially deeded back to the City of Jackson after the renovation project was completed. The park features a quarter-mile rubberized walking trail, site lighting, a water fountain, and a picnic/performance pavilion. Playground equipment and a playing field offer recreational opportunities for children and adults. Park benches and picnic tables provide places to relax and enjoy the outdoors. A community garden is tended by neighbors in season, adding a touch of local flavor. Fondren Park is more than just a park; it's a symbol of community revitalization and a testament to the power of local collaboration. It provides a valuable green space for the Fondren neighborhood and a welcoming place for all to enjoy.
