    From the Natchez Visitor Center at 640 S. Canal Street, head north on Canal Street towards the river. Turn left onto Main Street, then right onto Broadway Street. Natchez On The Bluff will be on your left. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. There are no costs associated with walking.

    Natchez Transit provides public transportation in Natchez. From the Natchez Transit System Regional Transportation Center at 127 Wood Ave, take the trolley to a stop near the bluff. Designated for public use in the 1700s, the high stretch of bank has been protected as a promenade ever since.Over the centuries, the bluff has been a focal point for significant events and figures. The Spanish designated the bluff as a public park, laying out the town in a typical Spanish grid plan. Notable figures such as Marquis de Lafayette, President William Howard Taft, and President George H.W. Bush have all given speeches at the park. Hot air balloons have been launched from the bluff since 1806, a tradition that continues with the Natchez Balloon Festival.Today, Natchez On The Bluff provides a tranquil setting for visitors to soak in the natural beauty of the Mississippi River. The Natchez Bluff Trail follows a path on top of the bluff, offering spectacular views. Interpretive panels along the trail recount the history of Natchez, which was founded in 1716. The park is particularly beautiful at sunset.
