Discover more about Elvis Presley Birthplace

The Elvis Presley Birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi, is a historic site that marks the humble beginnings of the King of Rock and Roll. Elvis Aaron Presley was born in a two-room house built by his father, Vernon, with the help of his grandfather and uncle, in 1934. The family lived there for only a few years, but this small house is where Elvis's journey began. The Elvis Presley Birthplace Park encompasses the house, a museum, a memorial chapel, and Elvis Presley Park. The museum features exhibits about Elvis's life in Tupelo and his rise to fame, including memorabilia from a Tupelo native and Elvis fan, Janelle McComb. The Assembly of God Church, where the Presley family attended services, has been moved to the site and is open for visitors. This is where Elvis was first exposed to gospel music, which significantly influenced his musical style. Visitors can also see the “Elvis at 13” statue, the Walk of Life, and the Story Wall, which vividly portrays Elvis's childhood in Tupelo through the eyes of his childhood friends. The park hosts events, especially during the Tupelo Elvis Fest. More than 100,000 visitors from around the world tour the Elvis Presley Center each year.
