Located within Vicksburg National Military Park, the Kentucky Monument stands as a tribute to the soldiers from Kentucky who participated in the pivotal Vicksburg Campaign during the American Civil War. Dedicated on October 20, 2001, the monument uniquely features bronze statues of two prominent figures born in Kentucky: President Abraham Lincoln, leader of the Union, and Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy. The monument is located on Kentucky Avenue, between the Union and Confederate lines on the park's south loop, north of tour stop 15.
