From any location in Bootheel, head toward US-61 N. If you're near downtown New Madrid, simply take Main St. to get to US-61 N. Follow US-61 N for approximately 6 miles, then take the exit for MO-162 E toward New Madrid. After about 2 miles, turn left onto Dawson Rd. Continue on Dawson Rd for about 1 mile until you reach Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site, which will be on your left at 312 Dawson Rd, New Madrid, MO 63869. There is no entry fee for the site, but parking is available.
