Car
If you're driving from the center of Bootheel, head north on Highway 61. Continue for about 70 miles until you reach St. Joseph, MO. Once in St. Joseph, take the exit for I-229 N toward St. Joseph. Merge onto I-229 N and continue for about 3 miles. Take exit 2B for US-169 N toward downtown St. Joseph. Merge onto US-169 N and follow it for about 1 mile. Take the exit for Penn Street. Turn right onto Penn Street, and you will find the Pony Express National Museum at 914 Penn St, on your left. There is parking available near the museum, but be aware of any potential parking fees in the area.
Public Transportation
Unfortunately, public transportation options directly from Bootheel to the Pony Express National Museum are limited. However, you can take a Greyhound bus from a nearby city or hire a taxi or rideshare service to St. Joseph, MO. Once you arrive in St. Joseph, you can either walk or take another taxi to reach the museum located at 914 Penn St. Be sure to check the Greyhound schedule in advance, as it may not run frequently.
