From Independence, head to the nearest bus stop to catch the KCATA (Kansas City Area Transportation Authority) bus. Look for the Route 25 bus which travels towards Downtown Kansas City. Board the bus and stay on it for approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach the stop at 12th & Vine, disembark. From there, walk north on Vine Street for about 5 blocks until you arrive at 2001 Vine St, where the Kansas City Workhouse is located.
Walking
If you're near the Independence Square, you can start your journey by walking to the nearest bus stop on the corner of Maple Ave and Truman Road. Take the Route 25 bus heading to Downtown Kansas City. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 12th & Vine stop. Walk north on Vine Street for about 5 blocks to reach the Kansas City Workhouse at 2001 Vine St. This option is great for those who enjoy a stroll through the city.
