From Independence, head to the nearest KCATA bus stop. You can catch the #24 or #25 bus towards Downtown Kansas City. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Main St & 20th St' stop. From there, walk north on Main Street for about 5 minutes until you reach Memorial Drive. Turn left onto Memorial Drive and you will see the National WWI Museum and Memorial right ahead.

If you prefer to walk, the National WWI Museum and Memorial is approximately 10 miles from Independence. Start at the Independence Square and head west on E Maple Ave. Continue straight until you reach N M-291 Hwy. Follow M-291 Hwy south until you reach the intersection with I-70. Cross the highway and continue walking south until you reach the edge of Kansas City. Once in Kansas City, head west on 12th St, then turn onto Main St and walk north until you reach Memorial Drive. The museum will be on your left.
