Public Bus
From Independence, find the nearest bus stop for RideKC bus service. You can board the Route 29 bus heading towards Kansas City. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Shawnee Mission Parkway & Quivira' stop. From there, transfer to Route 571, which will take you directly to '57th St & Lackman' stop. The Shawnee Town 1929 Museum is just a short walk from the bus stop. Head west on 57th Street for about 0.2 miles, and you will find the museum on your right.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer biking, there are bike rental services in Independence. Rent a bike and head west on Truman Road, which will turn into 40 Highway. Continue to follow the signs for 40 Highway until you reach Shawnee. Once in Shawnee, take a left on 57th Street. The museum will be on your left after about a mile of cycling.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous, you could also walk. Start from the Independence Square and head north on Liberty Street. Continue until you reach 40 Highway, then take a right. Follow 40 Highway until you reach the intersection with 57th Street. Turn left onto 57th Street, and walk straight for about 2 miles. The Shawnee Town 1929 Museum will be on your right.
