    From downtown Jefferson City, find the nearest bus stop for the local transit system, JEFFTRAN. Board a bus heading towards the Capitol area. Get off at the stop closest to W Capitol Ave. Walk west along W Capitol Ave for about 0.5 miles. The Bicentennial Bridge will be visible ahead as you approach the intersection with N Jefferson St. JEFFTRAN fares are $1.50 per ride, with reduced fares of $0.75 for those who qualify. Exact change is required.

As you walk or bike across the 12-foot-wide bridge, you'll be treated to panoramic vistas of the Missouri River Valley, the Missouri State Capitol, and other Jefferson City landmarks. Informative plaques along the bridge share insights into the area's history and the bridge's architectural design. The bridge entrance includes a Gold Star Memorial honoring veterans and their families. Deborah Cooper Park on Adrian's Island offers paved paths, nature trails, public art, hammocks, and a Missouri Bicentennial Chessboard. Whether you're watching the sunrise over the Missouri River or trains coming and going, the park provides a unique and memorable experience. The bridge and park are ADA compliant, ensuring access for all visitors. The bridge was made possible by donations, including a significant contribution from Mrs. Betty Jo (BJ) DeLong.
