Car
From any location within Mark Twain National Forest, head to the nearest highway that connects to I-44. Once you reach I-44, follow the signs for Sullivan, MO. Take Exit 226 for MO-185 toward Sullivan. Continue on MO-185 until you reach the junction with Hwy W. Turn right onto Hwy W, and continue for approximately 3 miles. Meramec Caverns will be on your left at 1135 Hwy W, Sullivan, MO 63080.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, you will need to first find a bus service that operates in the area. The closest major city is St. Louis, where you can take a Greyhound bus to Sullivan, MO. Once in Sullivan, you can either take a local taxi or rideshare service directly to Meramec Caverns at 1135 Hwy W, Sullivan, MO 63080. Check schedules in advance as public transport options may be limited.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from a nearby campground or trail within Mark Twain National Forest. Make sure to have a map that includes the back roads leading to Sullivan. Follow the back roads to connect with Hwy W. The ride may be long but offers beautiful scenery. Ensure you have a helmet and safety gear, and be aware of traffic as you approach the caverns.
