Getting There

    If arriving by car from Chișinău, head east on the E581 highway towards Criuleni. Follow signs to Criuleni, approximately 30 km away. From Criuleni, take the road towards the Nistru River, following signs for Suta de Movile, located at approximately 47.7751° N latitude and 27.2802° E longitude. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is available near the site.

    To reach Suta de Movile via public transport, take a minibus or bus from Chișinău's Central Bus Station to Criuleni; buses typically depart every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Upon arriving in Criuleni, take a taxi or local transport to the Suta de Movile area near the Nistru River. A taxi from Criuleni will cost approximately 100-150 MDL.

These formations stretch for approximately 8 km in length and 2.3 to 1.7 km in width.Located in the Rîșcani district, between the villages of Braniște and Cobani, the hills rise dramatically from the surrounding farmland, with heights ranging from 1 to 30 meters. The tallest of these, Movila Țiganului (Gypsy Mound), stands out as a prominent landmark. The origin of these mounds has been debated by scientists, with theories ranging from ancient landslides to the remnants of submarine reefs from the ancient Sarmatian Sea. Legends also surround the site, with some believing they are burial mounds of fallen warriors from ancient battles.Visitors can explore the area and enjoy the beautiful views, especially from the higher mounds.
