Discover more about Rose Valley Park

Rose Valley Park (Valea Trandafirilor) is a sprawling urban oasis in Chișinău's Botanica district, covering 145 hectares, including 9 hectares of lakes. Established in 1968, the park's history is rooted in the area's tradition of rose cultivation, where locals grew roses to make Chisinau jam. The park derives its name from this tradition. In earlier times, from the 6th to 13th centuries, the territory was home to Slavic tribes, and the valley held an ancient Slavonic sanctuary. Known as Ross Valley, it was a place of worship for Slavic gods and ancestors. After Christianity spread, the sanctuary was destroyed, but the name remained. Today, Rose Valley Park features several lakes, around 50 varieties of trees and bushes, a concert stage with a capacity of 1,000, and an amusement park. Visitors can enjoy restaurants, beaches, playgrounds, and sports fields. The park also includes the Chernobyl Victims Memorial and the city's only Ferris wheel. Rose Valley Park is a blend of natural beauty, recreation, and historical significance.
