Designed by architect Luca Zaușkevici, the arch reflects a neoclassical style and stands 13 meters tall.The arch originally housed a 6.4-ton bell cast from captured Turkish cannons. However, the bell proved too large and was placed in a nearby belfry. The structure features a square shape with four openings and is adorned with Corinthian-style capitals and ceramic ornaments. A clock sits atop the arch, a notable feature since the 19th century.Throughout its history, the Triumphal Arch has undergone several restorations and name changes, including Arch of Victory during Soviet times.
