Suta de Movile: A Landscape of Ancient Mystery

The tallest of these, Movila Țiganului (Gypsy's Mound), reaches approximately 30 meters. The origin of Suta de Movile is a subject of scientific debate. Some believe they are the result of ancient landslides and collapses, while others suggest they are concentrated submarine reefs of the ancient Sarmatian Sea that covered the region millions of years ago.Local legends tell tales of fierce battles fought on these lands, with the mounds serving as burial sites for fallen heroes.
