Discover more about Țaul Park

Țaul Park, located approximately 200 km north of Chisinau, is a sprawling 64-hectare green space, making it the largest park in Moldova. Founded in the early 20th century by Andrei Iacob Pommer, a French-Russian banker, the park was designed by landscape architect Ipolit Vladislav-Padalco. The park is divided into two main sections: the upper part, featuring the Pommer family's rustic residence surrounded by avenues and flower beds, and the lower part, resembling a forest with tree groupings from various geographical areas. The park boasts a collection of around 150 different types of trees, shrubs, and vines, with over a hundred being exotic species. Visitors can explore the antique homes, a tranquil 2-hectare pond, and observe wildlife like swans and various bird species. The park's extensive network of alleys, walks, and paths stretches over 12.5 km, offering ample space for leisurely strolls and exploration. While the park has faced neglect and requires restoration, it remains a prime destination for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility and a connection with the area's unique heritage. Remnants of its grand past are still visible, including the Pommer family palace, guest outhouses, and utility structures. During the Soviet era, the complex functioned as a sanatorium, but today, efforts are underway to preserve this historical monument.
