Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Orheiul Vechi, head southeast on the main road (Orhei Vechi Monastery Rd). Continue straight for approximately 10 kilometers. You will pass the entrance to Orheiul Vechi National Park. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Butuceni. The Butuceni Ethnography Museum will be on your right once you reach the village of Butuceni. There is parking available nearby.

    From the main bus station in Orheiul Vechi, take a local minibus (known as a 'rutiera') heading to Butuceni. The minibus will drop you off at the center of Butuceni village. Once you alight, walk along Orhei Vechi Monastery Rd towards the east for about 500 meters. The Butuceni Ethnography Museum will be located on your left. The fare for the minibus is approximately 10 MDL (Moldovan Lei).

    If you are already in Butuceni, you can easily walk to the museum. From the village center, head east along Orhei Vechi Monastery Rd for about 500 meters. The museum will be on your left. This is a pleasant walk with views of the countryside.
