However, in 2016, the city undertook a significant restoration project, relying on limited archival materials and photographs from Chișinău residents to recreate its original splendor. The restored staircase features numerous sculptures and intricate details that capture the city's spirit.The Cascade Stairs boast a total of 218 steps, surpassing the famous Potemkin Stairs in Odessa by 18 steps. The cascading design incorporates fountains and vibrant flowerbeds, creating a picturesque and inviting atmosphere.
