    The Monaco Courthouse, officially named Palais de Justice, is an architectural gem located in Monaco's old town, Monaco-Ville. Inaugurated in 1930, the courthouse was commissioned by Prince Louis II and designed by architect Fulbert Aureglia. The building is constructed from sea tuff, a porous grey stone containing pebbles and shells, also used for the city's ramparts.The courthouse is located next to the Monaco Cathedral. While the interior is not generally open to the public, the exterior is worth seeing. The architecture features symmetrical staircases and a circular design. A bust of Sovereign Honoré II, dating back to 1568, adorns one of the facades. The building is still a functioning courthouse and houses Monaco's legal services.
