If you're traveling by car from Buir Lake to Khuvsgul Lake, start by heading west on the main road towards Mörön. After approximately 90 kilometers, you will reach the town of Mörön. From Mörön, continue north on Highway A-999 for about 130 kilometers. Follow the signs for Khuvsgul Lake. The total drive should take around 3-4 hours depending on road conditions. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as some sections may be unpaved.

To travel by public transportation, first find the bus station in Buir Lake where you can catch a bus to Mörön. Buses typically leave in the morning, and the fare is around 15,000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). The bus ride to Mörön takes approximately 2-3 hours. Once in Mörön, you can transfer to a minibus or taxi that goes directly to Khuvsgul Lake. This leg of the trip may cost an additional 10,000 MNT and takes about 1.5 hours.
