To reach Urga the First Capital City from anywhere in the Eastern Steppe, start by locating the nearest main road leading to Ovorkhangai province. If you are in a town such as Sukhbaatar, head west on the A-4 highway towards Kharkhorin. Once you reach Kharkhorin, continue on the A-4 road, which will take you towards Kumeltuin Sume. Follow the signs for Kumeltuin Sume, and look for the coordinates 5W45+4RH. The site is located approximately 5 kilometers from the main road, so keep an eye out for local signs directing you to the historical site.

If you are traveling by public transportation, start by taking a bus or minivan from your current location in the Eastern Steppe to Kharkhorin. Buses typically depart from main bus stations, and the fare is around 10,000 MNT. Upon arriving in Kharkhorin, you can find shared taxis or minibuses heading towards Kumeltuin Sume. The fare for this leg of the journey is approximately 5,000 MNT. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to visit Urga the First Capital City, and they will drop you off nearby. The site is a short walk from the drop-off point.
