Car
From Khar Nuur, head west on the main road (Route 4) towards Khovd. Continue for approximately 35 kilometers. Look for the sign that points to Khar Lake, which is located to the north of the road. Turn left and follow the dirt road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the lake. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain as the last stretch may be bumpy.
Public Transportation
From Khar Nuur, take a bus or shared taxi heading towards Khovd. The fare is approximately 3,000 MNT. After about 30 kilometers, get off at the nearest stop to the Khar Lake turn-off. From there, you can either walk (about 10 kilometers) or hire a local vehicle (typically costs around 10,000-15,000 MNT) to take you directly to Khar Lake.
Motorcycle or Bicycle
For those adventurous enough to ride, you can rent a motorcycle or bicycle in Khar Nuur. Follow the same route as the car guidance, making sure to stay on the main road until the dirt road turn-off for Khar Lake. The ride is approximately 45 kilometers and will take you through beautiful landscapes, but be cautious of road conditions.
