Car
Start your journey in the town of Murun, the capital of Khövsgöl Province. From Murun, take the road south towards the village of Jargalant. Follow the signs to the Khövsgöl Lake area. Continue on the main road for approximately 120 km until you reach the town of Ulaan-Uul. From Ulaan-Uul, follow the signs leading to Bayan-Ölgii. The drive will take about 4-5 hours. Once you reach Bayan-Ölgii, head towards Tolbo Lake, which is about 30 km southwest of the town. The last part of the journey may require a 4WD vehicle due to rough terrain.

From Murun, take a minibus (known as a 'marshrutka') heading to Ulaan-Uul. Buses leave regularly and the trip takes around 3-4 hours. Once in Ulaan-Uul, you will need to hire a local taxi or find a shared vehicle heading towards Bayan-Ölgii. This taxi ride can cost around 20,000 to 30,000 MNT. From Bayan-Ölgii, you can either hire a taxi or arrange a local tour to take you to Tolbo Lake, which is approximately 30 km away. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand.
