Car
If you are driving from the city of Darkhan, head north on the A-1 road towards Selenge River Basin. After approximately 35 kilometers (about 22 miles), take the exit towards Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Follow the signs for about 10 kilometers (6 miles) until you reach the entrance to the monastery. Make sure to have cash on hand as there may be a small entrance fee.
Public Transportation
From Darkhan, you can take a shared minibus (known as a 'marshrutka') heading towards the Amarbayasgalant Monastery. These minibuses leave from the central bus station and typically cost around 1,500 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Inform the driver that you are going to Amarbayasgalant Monastery, and they will drop you off near the entrance.
Walking
Once you arrive at the drop-off point from the minibus or have parked your car, you will have to walk about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) to reach the main entrance of Amarbayasgalant Monastery. The path is straightforward and signs are posted along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain may be uneven.
